JOHN HALL

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

John G. Hall is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Flatland Services, LLC. Responsible for overseeing all facets of the organization, John drives the mission, operations, and implementation to seek and continually develop opportunities in the Permian Basin both directly and tangibly. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. 

After graduating from Tech, John began his engineering career with Aggie Oil Tech. In 2017, he accepted a position as Director of Engineering Procurement and Construction with Solaris Water Midstream. He then went on to start Flatland Energy Services, LLC in 2019. He started with only three employees and has continued to grow the company exponentially to over 200 employees at the beginning of 2023. Exuding a dynamic, effective, and influential leadership style, John prophetically transformed this energy service company into an innovative and dynamic petroleum engineering solution.

In 2022, John was awarded Texas Tech’s College of Engineering Young Distinguished Engineer Award for his integrity, stature, and demonstrated ability in his accomplishments.

John serves the Permian Basin community through his work and sponsorship of charity organizations, livestock shows, and school booster programs. John currently resides in Midland, Texas with his wife and four beautiful daughters. John is an active member in his church, enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and supporting the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

STEVE BERRONES

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Steve was raised in Roswell, NM and attended Eastern New Mexico University where he received a B.B.A. in Accounting.  He started his career in public accounting in Midland, TX in 1990 where he eventually became a partner with Elms, Faris & Co. P.C. before moving on to start Berrones & Fritchen, PLLC.  Steve’s background in public accounting included oil & gas taxation, business consulting and estate planning.   Steve left public accounting in 2012 after 23 years to work for a client, AggieTech Investments, Inc., to drive growth both organically and through acquisition.   Steve served as CFO and eventually shareholder for 10 years with the AggieTech companies where he oversaw all aspects of finance, accounting and human resources for the various entities including multiple capital transactions. 

In 2020, he led the team in a capital raise to create AggieTech Water Solutions, LLC where they partnered up with Double Drop Operating, LLC and Flatland Energy Services, LLC to build a saltwater disposal pipeline system in Martin County, TX.  Thru acquisition in 2021, this quickly became the footprint for Lagoon Water Midstream in the Permian Basin.  Shortly afterwards, Steve partnered up with John Hall, CEO and former co-worker, to join the Flatland team in October of 2021 as Flatland’s CFO. 

Over the 30 plus years that Steve has been in Midland, TX, he has served on numerous Boards in the community including serving multiple terms as Chairman of both High Sky Children’s Ranch and Midland YMCA while raising 4 children with his wife Gina.  In addition to traveling and fitness activities, Steve is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan dating back to his youth in the mid 70’s.

CHERYL DONAHOO

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

Cheryl Donahoo is the VP of Finance for Flatland Energy Services.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a masters degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University.

With over 16 years of experience across diverse industries like retail, food operations, oil and gas, non-profit, and public accounting, she brings a wealth of financial expertise and a deep understanding of what makes businesses succeed.  More than just crunching numbers, she thrives on providing clear, actionable financial guidance that empowers organizations to succeed, and developing and leading strong finance teams where team members can learn, grow, and contribute their unique strengths.

When not immersed in the world of finance, she is a proud wife to Paul, and a devoted mom to four incredible young kids – Charis, Hannah, Caleb, and Micah. Her faith and family fuel her energy and remind her of the importance of prioritizing God and family above all else.

MICHAEL BRANDON

CUSTOMER RELATIONS OFFICER

Michael Brandon has been employed at Flatland Energy and H&B Pipe and Supplies as the Customer Relations Officer since January 2023.

Michael Brandon earned his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech. Having worked mostly in the area of water midstream for multiple operators including Lagoon Water Midstream, Double Drop Resources, Oilfield Water Logistics and AggieTech SWD, he is very familiar with pipelines, facilities and the importance of customer service.

Michael lives in Midland with his wife Kimmee and their two children. When Michael is not working, he
likes to coach volleyball with his daughter and watch his son play football, basketball and run track.

RAFAEL LEYVA

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Rafael Leyva is the Operations Manager at Flatland Energy Services. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. With a passion for excellence, Rafael oversees all field operations with a sharp eye for detail, ensuring nothing but the highest standards of work.

Rafael’s journey in the oil & gas pipeline industry began when he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. With 14 years of experience in various roles with companies like Troy, KCI, and Barry Bro’s, Rafael has developed a deep understanding of pipeline operations. Originally from Nvo. Casas Grandes, Mexico, he has made Midland, Texas his home for the past 7 years, bringing his expertise to the thriving industry in the area.
